Chris Bishop Online Acquisition Manager

Chris began his career in online media in 1999 as publisher and owner of an online sports network which focussed predominantly on affiliate and search marketing. Chris later graduated from the University of Central Lancashire as one of the first four students in the UK to achieve a BA (Hons) e-business degree.

In 2003 Chris joined Johnson & Johnson as e-Business & Marketing Assistant, where he was responsible for developing online marketing techniques for the brand. This included maximising online brand visibility through the launch and management of a plethora of B2B & B2C websites and further developing permission email marketing and search engine marketing strategy.

In 2005 Chris joined TradeDoubler as part of an account management team which specialised in managing profitable relationships between clients and the affiliate publisher base. Chris was responsible for securing and managing affiliate campaigns across a variety of vertical markets for brands such as Apple Store, Royal Bank of Scotland, John Lewis and Littlewoods.

At the start of 2006 Chris joined multi-channel luxury chocolate retailer, Hotel Chocolat as Online Marketing Manager. Chris was personally instrumental in growing the Hotel Chocolat Internet business by setting and implementing a successful online marketing strategy to exceed the businesses online goals. This was achieved through a combination of increased online acquisition, primarily as a result of high ROI PPC activity, search marketing and affiliate sales %u2013 the later grew by 400% in his first full year.

In April 2008 Chris joined premium department store, House of Fraser as Online Acquisition Manager and is currently responsible for maximising strategic value through the implementation and management of direct response online marketing for the House of Fraser website. The primary focus of the role is to build the online marketing strategy, with a keen steer towards SEO, affiliate marketing and PPC

In June 2007, Chris was recognised for his "Outstanding Personal Contribution to Affiliate Marketing" and presented with the Commission Junction University (CJU) Europe award. Chris has also been shortlisted for the A4Uawards.com accolade of "Affiliate Manager of the Year" for 2007 and 2008.

Chris is currently studying an IDM Digital Marketing Diploma and is due to complete in early 2009, has spoken at a variety of industry events including Internet Retailing, Internet World, Affiliates4U Expo & Commission Junction University Europe and regularly writes on his Online Marketing Blog.
